The Travelling Troubadour

Umamplified Guitar and Vocals in Residential Nursing and Care Homes

A Brief History

I started up my business initially known as “Music With Trev” in July 2000, focusing on providing musical entertainment in nursing and residential homes in Kent.

Over the years it has now expanded to the South-East (Including South London, Sussex and parts of Hampshire.)

I also started to play in homes with learning disabilities which has also helped me to expand my song repertoire as these homes tend to have a wider age range.

Around this time (2005) the title “The Travelling Troubadour” was coined and it stuck, as it seemed to accurately describe what I do, not just the playing but also the car miles clocked up going from home to home!

The Music

Now 20 years later from when my journey first begun, I have built up an extensive repertoire of songs (around 6 hours worth!) covering old London songs from the 1890s right up to the 1970s.

The Songs are structured into one hour sets. In Nursing/Residential Homes the songs are structured into five sets with another group of songs that can be played any time, in any set required.

Booking The Travelling Troubadour

When booking The Travelling Troubadour it’s important to remember the performance itself is about encouraging engagement and interacting with the audience through song, rather than just simply singing at the them.

The hope is that the audience not only sees this as an entertaining performance but it also has therapeutic benefits that only the joy of music and singing along with your favourite songs can provide!

With this in mind please be aware the performances are structured to last normally one hour and please note if you are planning to book for a large hall or gathering, all performances are with an umamplified guitar and vocals so this may cause some limits.
