KMFM's World Cup Song Competition - Go Win For England

‘Go Win For England’ was originally written during the time of recording Trevor’s album Way Past Time, using the similar tune of his song on the CD ‘Let It Rain For England’ and some new lyrics, ‘Go Win For England’ was born.

The song was performed by Trevor with the help of Paul Eastham & other members of Southampton rock band Coast, under the pseudonym Bulldog Brothers. It was released by the welsh record label Awen Records, all this within the few months leading up to the World Cup.

The competition itself was sponsored by Kent Adult Education and aimed to raise funds for Demelza Hospice Care for Children. The competition attracted 55 entries from across the county with the entries then shortened to just 10 where the public was asked to vote for their favourite; to which Trevor was declared the winner!

Following the winning of KMFM’s World Cup song competition, Trevor then went on Radio Kent’s breakfast show to discuss how it was written. It was also played on Alan Davies Radio 5 World Cup Program and came close to coming the theme tune! It was also voted Radio Kent’s favourite World Cup song for 2014 as well as featuring on BBC 1 South East News.
